We’re just two weeks away from the SDAHO 2026 Annual Convention, September 16–18 in Sioux Falls, and this year’s centennial celebration will offer attendees more than great education and networking — it will provide a chance to step back in time and experience South Dakota health care history.
New This Year: Explore the Heritage Hallway
In celebration of SDAHO’s 100th anniversary, the Heritage Hallway will showcase artifacts, photographs and videos highlighting how health care — and our Association — have evolved through the decades.
Attendees will see historical artifacts donated in part by Monument Health Lead-Deadwood and the Sioux Empire Medical Museum, located on the Sanford Health campus in Sioux Falls. The collection includes vintage nursing and student nurse uniforms, caps, shoes, dolls dressed in uniforms representing different eras and other pieces of health care history.
Faces from the Past will feature photographs pulled from the SDAHO vault, showcasing many of the people who helped shape the Association into what it is today. Some faces may be familiar — and others may provide a true blast from the past!
The experience will also include historical video clips from SDAHO Annual Conventions through the years, along with then-and-now photographs showing current SDAHO member hospitals as they appeared decades ago alongside images of those facilities today.
It’s a unique opportunity to see just how far health care has come — while honoring the people and organizations that helped get us here.
