Meet EqualizeRCM: A SDAHO Enterprises Endorsed Business Partner

Helping Rural Healthcare Strengthen the Revenue Cycle

The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) Enterprises is excited to recognize EqualizeRCM as our October 2026 Endorsed Business Partner. Throughout October, SDAHO Enterprises will offer several opportunities for members to learn more about EqualizeRCM through social media and featured resources focused on practical and innovative technology, revenue cycle performance and how EqualizeRCM can support SDAHO members.

Members don’t have to wait to get connected. EqualizeRCM is offering an opportunity on October 6 specifically designed for leaders of Critical Access and Community Hospitals.

Join the CACH CFO Administrator Forum — October 6th

Rural hospital leaders are invited to participate in the Critical Access & Community Hospitals (CACH) CFO Administrator Forum, a community created to bring CFOs, CEOs and financial administrators together to share ideas, learn from one another and strengthen the network of hospitals providing essential care across rural America.

Led by Chris Ekrem and Luwanna LaPole, Co-Forum Organizers and former Critical Access Hospital Executives, the forum will feature three experienced healthcare leaders for a candid conversation about navigating financial challenges and moving rural hospitals toward greater financial stability. Panelists will share real-world experiences, strategies and lessons learned, along with practical ideas leaders can take back to their own organizations.

Built for Rural Healthcare Realities

Rural and Critical Access Hospitals face a unique balancing act: maintaining strong financial performance while operating with lean teams, limited resources and increasingly complex payer requirements. EqualizeRCM brings experienced people, practical technology and flexible support to help healthcare organizations strengthen the revenue cycle without giving up control of their operations.

EqualizeRCM works alongside healthcare organizations to identify where performance is breaking down and where additional support can have the greatest impact. Support can target a specific issue, supplement an existing business office through co-sourcing, or expand as needs evolve. Services include RCM consulting and optimization, billing and collections, A/R and denial management, coding, credentialing, business office support, benefits verification, and technology and automation.

Finding the Problem Behind the Metric

A troubling metric is often only a symptom. High denials or aging A/R may originate earlier in the revenue cycle with eligibility, credentialing, coding, documentation, claim submission, payment posting or payer requirements. EqualizeRCM looks beyond the backlog to identify the patterns and processes creating the problem.

Credentialing, coding and payer requirements can directly affect whether claims are submitted accurately, paid promptly and reimbursed appropriately. Even when overall performance appears stable, monitoring denial trends, days in A/R, net collections, reimbursement and payment patterns, payer-specific issues, recurring workflow exceptions and staffing capacity can help uncover friction or revenue leakage before it becomes a larger problem.

AI2: Artificial Intelligence + Actual Intelligence

Technology can reduce repetitive work, identify patterns and surface exceptions. Experienced revenue cycle professionals provide the judgment needed to understand root causes, navigate payer and workflow nuances, manage exceptions and turn insights into action.

EqualizeRCM’s AI2 approach combines both to improve efficiency without losing the human expertise behind the work.

Results in Action

Multi-Site Healthcare Entity

A multi-site healthcare entity partnered with EqualizeRCM to improve financial performance, reduce aging A/R and optimize reimbursement workflows. Within two years, the organization reported measurable improvements in collections, reimbursement and overall revenue cycle efficiency:

  • 4% increase in collections
  • 97% net collections (from 86%)
  • 39 days in A/R (from 216)
  • $366 payment per visit (from $266)

“We consider EqualizeRCM a real partner in its AR collection efforts… they work hard to help assure we collect everything due us in order to help fund those services.” — CEO, 2025

A Resource for SDAHO Members

EqualizeRCM sees its role with SDAHO as more than simply being another vendor. Through EqualizeCares, the organization supports healthcare communities, while its support of the CACH Forum helps Critical Access and Community Hospital leaders connect, share experiences and learn from peers.

EqualizeRCM can serve as a resource for South Dakota healthcare organizations facing staffing shortages, denials, aging A/R, coding and credentialing challenges, payer complexity, or questions about where AI and automation can create meaningful value.

The focus is straightforward: bring the right people and the right technology to the problem, meet the organization where it is, and help strengthen the revenue cycle so healthcare organizations can remain focused on the communities they serve.
