Revenue Cycle A to Z for Critical Access Hospitals

​In the past, the South Dakota Healthcare Financial Management Association’s (SDHFMA) held a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) and Rural Health Clinic (RHC) Medicare Bootcamp that was a four-day intensive course. This year South Dakota HFMA is offering five half-day virtual sessions discussing topics pertinent to Critical Access Hospital Revenue Cycle. They will cover topics such as key performance indicators, inpatient services, outpatient services, swing beds, RHCs, coding, modifiers, and much more. This annual education event will feature Deyon Suchla, Senior Manager and Joy Krush, Senior Manager with Eide Bailly.

Space is limited. Registration is $100 per participant. Presenters:
Deyon Suchla has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry and more than 15 years of business office management experience in hospital, clinic and long-term care operations. She provides Healthcare Revenue Cycle analysis and support for hospital, swingbed, clinic (provider based, free standing, RHC, FQHC, Method II CAH election), long-term care, and home care services. She provides consulting and training consistent with compliance guidelines established by Medicare and other third party payers for both UB-04 and HCFA-1500 billing. She assists with establishing and implementing daily policies and procedures to meet accounts receivable targets and provides on-site business office management services guiding operations from patient pre-registration to final resolution of accounts receivable. She uses KPI Metrics Management for daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting. She also analyzes third party reimbursement and claims denial management. 

Joy Krush has more than 30 years of experience in the health care industry with an emphasis in coding, health information management, compliance, charge capture and documentation improvement. She provides coding and documentation reviews for appropriateness of MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and APC assignment. She assists clients in determining impact on compliance and reimbursement with documentation, coding and charge capture. She is trained in Clinical Documentation Improvement and has previous experience managing a facilities CDI program. She provides reviews of facilities chargemaster to evaluate overall accuracy of coding, revenue codes and line item descriptions and assists with implementation of chargemaster recommendations. She provides assistance to help manage and write appeals to RAC and other payers for DRG and APC denials and is trained in ICD-10-CM and PCS, and has extensive experience in CPT coding.
