SDAHO’s Nurse Leadership Program is a customized education program designed to equip hospital and post-acute care nurse leaders with leadership and operational skills they need to be a successful and supportive leader in their organization.
On October 27th, SDAHO held it’s last Nurse Leadership session in Pierre for the 2022 program. Attendees explored the nurse role in advocacy at the local and state levels through engaging conversations, which lead to phenomenal takeaways. Guest speakers included Dept. of Social Services Sec. Laurie Gill; Dept. of Human Services Sec. Shawnee Rechtenbaugh; Dept. of Health Sec. Joan Adam; SD DOH survey and licensure leaders Cassie Deffenbaugh and Jean Koch; SD Board of Nursing Lindsay Olson; Attorney Generals Office Jody Gillaspie, Kimberley Zachrison & Paul Cremer; and a panel of nurse legislators shared their legislative journey Jean Hunhoff, Taylor Rehfeldt and Deb Fischer Clemens.

Registration for our 2023 Nurse Leadership Program opens on November 14th. While our mission remains the same, supporting our nurse leaders, we will have new topics delivered by South Dakota’s nurse experts and other South Dakota healthcare leaders.
The nurse leadership program is available to current and emerging nurse leaders within hospitals and post-acute care (nursing home, assisted living, home health and hospice) settings.
