CAPC Celebrates One Million Training Courses

The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) marks an amazing milestone: One million CAPC clinical training courses completed by more than 110,000 health care professionals according to their website. “Clinicians from all specialties and disciplines- including nonpalliative care clinicians- can strengthen their care of patients living with serious illness.”

CAPC’s continuing education mission is to “promote evidence based palliative care learning for healthcare professionals, with the ultimate goal of improving patient care and health outcomes.”  The education is developed for all members of the interdisciplinary team:  nurses, APRNs, physicians, social workers, pharmacists and chaplains with additional education for other disciplines that may be involved in the care of someone with serious illness.  It is intended to be used by anyone- from students to seasoned palliative care specialists.

For members of CAPC, their online training curriculum provides free CME for physicians and CE for nurses, social workers, and case managers. Free ABIM MOC credits are also available for physicians.  The courses are interactive and can be taken at any time, any where and on any device.
