The Center for Rural Health Improvement at the University of South Dakota’s Sanford School of Medicine invites you to the Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) Training Day on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 9AM to 5PM in Pierre, SD.
This free training opportunity will feature expert speakers presenting on topics related to MOUD in the morning, a complimentary lunch, and the opportunity to participate in a virtual simulated telehealth clinical scenario with a standardized patient based on a case involving opioid use disorder.
Participants in the simulation will be assigned a private room and will connect virtually with a standardized patient to simulate a clinical session. The session will be observed by an experienced professional who will provide feedback. While the simulation is primarily geared toward medical and clinical health students, it is open to anyone interested in developing or refining their clinical interviewing skills—whether new or experienced. The simulation will take approximately 30 minutes. A final agenda will be shared closer to the event date.
The event is open to students, prescribers, working professionals, and any other interested individuals or groups. Free Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available, and an application for Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits is pending. This training is funded in part by a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Provider’s Clinical Support System–Universities Grant.
