SDAHO’s Porter named co-chair of national workforce initiatives advisory group

LeadingAge has appointed Jen Porter, vice president of post-acute care for SDAHO, as co-chair for a national LeadingAge workforce initiatives advisory group.

Porter will share the chair duties with Danielle Willis of National Church Residences in Columbus, Ohio.

The group will focus its efforts on developing strategic plan workforce initiatives in conjunction with LeadingAge’s new vice president for workforce initiatives, Susan Hildebrandt.

Key action areas include:

• Framing the workforce issue
• Gathering promising practices from states
• Scaling state initiatives
• Developing a policy agenda
• Forming partnerships

The workforce advisory group consists of provider members, state affiliate executives and LeadingAge staff. The group engaged in its first meeting in Washington, D.C., last week and will convene regularly to continue its work.
