The 4th of July holiday is a time set aside in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. It is special time to pause and reflect on our many blessings and that we live in a country where the virtues of “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” echo today as loud as they did 241 years ago!
This reflection seems particularly important given the challenging times we face in our state and as a nation. However, we cannot and must not become discouraged! Our 26th president, Theodore Roosevelt, said it best, “This country will not be a good place for any of us to live in unless we make it a good place for all of us to live in.”
Roosevelt’s words resonate as we reflect on the more than 60,000 health care professionals who provide compassionate care in our communities! The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations proudly joins together with so many others to express gracious appreciation for those who serve, especially during the holiday, allowing others time away to enjoy with family and friends!
We wish you continued prosperity and have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day holiday!
