The annual convention included the presentation of the association’s inaugural
Quality Excellence Awards. These awards recognize outstanding achievements in innovation and effective quality improvement and patient safety projects.
An award was presented to one member in each of three categories: PPS Hospital, Critical Access Hospital, and Post-Acute Care Services.
The Quality Excellence Award winners included:
Sioux Falls VA Healthcare System – The Sioux Falls VA project targeted high risk pre-diabetic patients, implementing a facility-wide process around the importance of pre-diabetes prevention treatment.
Sanford Clear Lake Medical Center – The Sanford Clear Lake Medical Center project focused on a new vaccination requirement that was a result of senate bill 28, passed in 2016, and required sixth graders to have specific vaccinations.
Avera Sister James Care Center – The Avera Sister James project focused on pain assessment and interventions.
Please join us in congratulating these SDAHO members for their ongoing work in quality excellence and advancing healthy communities.
