South Dakota Medicaid has made an update to billing requirements to always require the rendering (servicing) NPI and taxonomy for claims billed on a CMS 1500 claim form. As promised, CMS has posted the recording, post-training materials and question and answer (Q&A) documents of the May 2 webinar explaining the Review and Correct process for the SNF, LTCH and IRF Quality Reporting Programs. The materials provide helpful information to providers on where to find the necessary reports within the CASPER system in order to make any necessary corrections prior to the quality reporting deadlines.
SD BMOE to hold June 8 public hearing
The South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners has scheduled a public hearing in Sioux Falls on June 8 to consider petitions for declaratory rulings on four issues about whether the attending physician can delegate the task of writing orders to the following health care professionals for residents of a nursing facility and whether writing orders is within the scope of practice for those professionals as defined by state law.
