Save the Date! The Division of Behavioral Health, in partnership with other state agencies, is excited to announce the date of the Second Annual Suicide Prevention Conference, “We Need to Talk.” This no-cost conference is a great opportunity to elevate the conversation around suicide prevention as well as share tools and resources for suicide prevention and stigma reduction. The 2023 conference will feature key speakers, Kevin Hines and Dr. Craig Bryan.
This two-day conference will be held on August 10 from 10:00am-5:00pm CST and August 11 from 8:00am-12:00pm CST.
Registration for this conference will open in May. Visit the South Dakota Suicide Prevention website to stay up to date on additional information regarding the conference.

The Department of Social Services, Division of Behavioral Health, in partnership with other state agencies, is excited to host the Second Annual Suicide Prevention Conference on August 10th from 10:00am-5:00pm and August 11th 8:00am-12:00pm CST in Sioux Falls.
This no-cost conference is open to anyone interested in learning more about additional tools and resources that are available in South Dakota. Featuring key speakers Kevin Hines, bestselling author and suicide attempt survivor; Dr. Craig Bryan, researcher and Veteran himself; and Dr. Kari Oyen, Program Director and Associate Professor of School Psychology. There will also be speakers in the areas of veterans, youth, tribal communities and compassion fatigue. Registration will close on August 1st, 2023 or until we reach capacity.
