Event Details

Overview:

Long-term care facilities are required to operate a compliance and ethics program under regulations issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in 2016. This requirement took effect in November 2019. CMS directed state survey agencies  in June 2022 to begin enforcement in October 2022.  This webinar will provide an overview of the required components of a compliance and ethics program, as well as describing guidance issued by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (HHS OIG) on nursing home compliance programs.

Objectives:
  • Explain CMS expectations for a compliance and ethics program
  • Assess whether your organization’s compliance and ethics program aligns with current requirements
  • Develop a process to identify and prioritize compliance risks facing your organization
