The Geriatric Emergency Department Collaborative (GEDC) is holding a webinar with the Education Development Center (EDC) on July 22, “Implementing the Elder Mistreatment Emergency Department (EMED) Toolkit in the Geriatric ED.”
The EMED toolkit, designed by the National Collaboratory to Address Elder Mistreatment, is an evidence-informed intervention that provides resources to start a quality improvement initiative to address elder mistreatment in emergency department (ED) and other care settings. These resources include an ED staff survey, online training modules, elder mistreatment screening and response tool (EM-SART), and a community connections roadmap.
Webinar speakers will talk about the EMED’s four components and their experience of implementing the toolkit in various settings, and will explore drivers of success, barriers, and opportunities to improve the identification of elder mistreatment.
