Do your leaders know how to identify an employee who may be impaired by alcohol or drugs?
When an employee is impaired on the job you have a safety and morale problem in your workplace. Leaders need to know what to look for, and the correct steps to take in order to confidently act in a moment of safety-risk.
Objectives:
- Signs and symptoms of an impaired employee
- Effects of various substances of abuse on an individual
- Reasonable suspicion criteria and how to apply it
- How to respond correctly to deal with the impaired employee

Tim Heerts has a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from Central College of Iowa, and earned his Master of Arts in Counseling degree from Sioux Falls Seminary. He has been in the counseling field for 35 years, with over 25 years specializing in the EAP field. Tim has been delivering professional presentations on a wide range of EAP-related topics for diverse audiences throughout his career
