The nursing industry is facing a steadily growing shortage of nurses that has only been exacerbated by the pandemic. However, healthcare leadership can turn the tides of the nursing industry. To do so, they must create a sustainable pipeline of nurses, invest in employee development, and cultivate an environment of support. With over 30 years of nursing experience and leadership, Artley will help clinical leaders better understand what steps can be taken to improve the recruitment and retention of nursing staff.

Presenter: Patti Artley, DNP, RN, CPN, NEA-BC, Chief Nursing Officer at Medical Solutions

Patti Artley has most recently been the Chief Nursing Officer of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, South Carolina where she was responsible for four hospitals, University, Psychiatric, Specialty and Children’s and Women’s. She also served as the system leader for nursing practice. Prior to her employment with MUSC, she worked as the nursing leader for Children’s and Women’s at Penn State Hershey Health System in Hershey, PA. Her clinical leadership was focused in Pediatrics and Women’s services.

Patti graduated with her Diploma in Nursing from Altoona Hospital, her Bachelors and Masters in Nursing from The Pennsylvania State University and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice, Nurse Executive from Old Dominion University. Patti maintains certification as Pediatric Nurse and Nurse Executive Advanced.
