A National Quality Forum (NQF) committee recently updated its surgery portfolio, endorsing 16 measures.
The NQF project aims to evaluate additional performance measures that will help guide cardiac, vascular, orthopedic, urologic, and gynecologic surgeries for the adult and pediatric populations. The surgery portfolio is one of NQF’s largest measure portfolios with more than 100 endorsed measures.
During a two-day, in-person meeting, the 25-member Surgery Standing Committee evaluated 24 measures, endorsing three new measures and 13 maintenance measures. A complete list of measures can be viewed on the project page.
Appeals to endorsed measures reviewed in this project must be submitted no later than Friday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. To submit an appeal or to find more information, go to the NQF Measure Database.
