As Americans head to the polls, most people would agree that the national campaign for president has been most unusual this year, but we also have had some interesting races in South Dakota. The results will shape the political landscape going forward, but regardless of which candidates win on Tuesday, SDAHOβs priority issues remain the same: Advancing healthy communities through the transformation of health care, ensuring access to care, improving the safety and quality of patient care, and making health care more affordable.
Our greatest strength comes from working together with a unified voice across the healthcare continuum. SDAHO has been proactive in identifying solutions to help address these issues. Our team has actively met with elected officials, candidates, and stakeholders to emphasize our legislative priorities. Also, during the past year, we analyzed key aspects and vulnerabilities affecting rural and frontier communities and medical providers and provided a framework for progressive next steps.
As we look forward to the challenges we will face over the next year, unifying membersβ collective voice will be especially crucial as we head into the 92nd session of the South Dakota Legislature. Your vote matters, so please get out and vote!
Please plan to join us for a post-election membership call on Monday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. Call-in information will be sent out soon.
