In 2016, Coteau des Prairies Health System in Sisseton completed a financial operational assessment as a part the of the Small Rural Hospital Transition Project (SRHT), with the National Rural Health Resource Center and Rural Health Innovations (RHI).
The assessment helped identify improvement opportunities, a number of which have been implemented with some significant results achieved thus far. As a part of the SRHT, educational and technical assistance is provided by RHI staff who share examples of best practices and assist with implementation to improve performance and advance adoption of strategies toward population health.
