Three conferences in the areas of biosafety, immunizations and infection control have been announced for health care providers.
The first conference is free and is called “Biosafety Practices and Procedures for Clinical Health Professionals.” It will be held on June 18 in Rapid City, June 20 in Aberdeen and June 21 in Sioux Falls. At this conference, hosted by the South Dakota Department of Health, participants will learn critical practices and procedures relevant to infection control and prevention and clinical laboratory sciences from some of the nation’s top experts. The Sioux Falls Area Immunization Coalition is holding their second annual “Immunize SD,” a statewide conference, on Aug. 17 in Sioux Falls. Participants will learn from national presenters the best practices and resources available to increase community awareness about vaccine preventable diseases. The third conference is the 2018 South Dakota Infection Control Conference (SDICC) on Oct. 4-5 in Rapid City. The registration link has not been opened up yet. If the date or location for SDICC isn’t convenient, the North Dakota Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) will hold their fall conference on Sept. 21 in Bismarck, ND.
