Noem, Johnson win in state primary election

Republican gubernatorial candidate Kristi Noem captured 56 percent of the vote to defeat Marty Jackley in the state primary election. Noem will face Democrat Billie Sutton in the November 6 general election.

In the U.S. House race, Dusty Johnson received 47 percent of the vote to defeat Shantel Krebs (29 percent) and Neal Tapio (24 percent). Johnson will face Democrat Timothy Bjorkman and Independent George Hendrickson in the general election.
