Last week the Trump administration released a proposal to shrink government and reorganize how services are delivered. The proposal would merge the departments of Education and Labor into a new Department of Education and the Workforce. Welfare and food aid programs would be merged into the new Department of Health and Public Welfare, while rural housing assistance would move from the Department of Agriculture to the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Response to the reorganization proposal has been mixed with some members of Congress suggesting it is “DOA”,  otherwise referring to a dead on arrival legislative initiative.
