The use of humidifiers during cold, dry weather is a great benefit, but special care should be taken when using them.
The South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) has developed guidance for those who use portable humidifiers, and issued a reminder to long term care and assisted living providers that policies and procedures regarding proper usage should be developed prior to putting humidifiers into use.
