NHPCO comments on hospice regulatory burden

In a letter to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on Nov. 19, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) offered comments on CMS-3346-P, Medicare and Medicaid Programs; Regulatory Provisions to Promote Program Efficiency, Transparency, and Burden Reduction, published Sept. 20.

The comments provided by NHPCO were in reference to training requirements for hospice aides, pharmacy services, specialty training, cost savings projections, medication policies and procedures and emergency preparedness testing. NHPCO also shared recommendations on other actions for hospice burden reduction.
