SNF and Hospice Providers Non-Compliance Letters

CMS is notifying Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) and Hospice providers that are non-compliant with the Quality Reporting Program (QRP) beginning July 16th. Receipt of such a letter indicates those providers failed to meet the reporting requirements of the QRP. Non-compliant providers will be subject to a 2% reduction in their Medicare rates beginning October 1, 2019 unless they request and receive reconsideration of the non-compliance.

There are two ways that CMS will be notifying providers:

  1. Noncompliance letters are being sent by the Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs).
  2. Noncompliance Letters will be in the CASPER folder in the QIES system

Providers have until 11:59pm PST on August 15, 2019 to request reconsideration of the non-compliance based upon the instructions provided in the letter or this information can also be found on the SNF Quality Reporting Reconsideration and Exception & Extension webpage and for Hospice providers on the Hospice Reconsideration Requests webpage.
