SDAHO Joins Campaign to Register Organ, Eye, and Tissue Donors

The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations has joined other area hospitals, healthcare organizations, and LifeSource to create a donation-friendly community through the Hospital Organ Donation Campaign. This national initiative sponsored by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services challenges healthcare organizations to educate employees, patients, visitors, and the community about the crucial need for organ, eye, and tissue donation and give them opportunities to sign up as donors. More than 443,000 people have added their names to state registries through this campaign.

We are asking the SDAHO community to help us educate staff members, patients and their families, visitors, and the extended community on the critical need for organ donation. If you are interested in becoming actively involved this effort, contact Cary Wencil at LifeSource.

And please take a few minutes today to add your name to our state’s donor registry. Someday you may save a life. Click here to find out how.
