Updated Guidance on COVID-19 Related to 340B

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) updated its guidance related to COVID-19 for 340B hospitals registering outpatient sites. HRSA is allowing 340B hospitals to register outpatient sites before they appear on the hospitals most recent Medicare cost report. Hospitals are urged to document policies and procedures as they use this flexibility to address resources needed related to COVID-19.

HRSA notes it does not have the authority to waive current law for 340B eligibility criteria. In addition to 340B hospitals are expected to conform to existing 340B patient definition guidance.
