The training is designed to give nurse leaders education that can be applied immediately to their role. Education will be taught by USD faculty who have professional experience within healthcare management and understand the struggles faced by nurse leaders today.
Professionals who attend this program will build skills and confidence in leadership, critical thinking, conflict management, effective team building, and change management. The one-year program will combine lecture, discussion, networking, and opportunities to interact with nurse leaders and other resource experts.
Here’s what the 2020 Nurse Leaders shared about the program:
- “There were good ideas offered to help with team selection and management to assist me in making the changes easier and more manageable for staff and everyone involved.” -Alice Ronk, Director of Nursing, Avera Prince of Peace
- “Applying the principles learned throughout this program has helped me in dealing with change.” -Elishia Schmidt, Director of Nursing and Clinical Services, Sanford Clear Lake Medical Center
- “Listening to the webinar on ‘Understanding Financials’ made me think from a different point of view – staff nurse into a leadership role. As a staff nurse I didn’t necessary think about the budget and this class gave me new things to consider.” -Kay Hoesing, MDS Coordinator, Sanford Vermillion Care Center
