CMS recently posted an updated draft of the OASIS-E document. A log of changes since posting in February is also available. OASIS-E will be effective January 01, 2023. Please note the instrument is not yet final. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval is required and expected later this year.

The implementation of Oasis-E will be the most intensive remake since Medicare first launched the assessment instrument in 1999 and with the national rollout of VBP with the first performance year in 2023, it will be even more critical to have a strong understanding of how to accurately complete the Oasis-E instrument.
