AHA Tackles Workforce Issues with New Report

The American Hospital Association (AHA) recently released a report to help hospitals and health systems combat workforce issues.
Strengthening the Health Care Workforce: Strategies for Now, Near and Far was developed with input from AHA members. The first section released includes strategies and considerations to help hospital and health system leaders:
  • Address staff well-being.
  • Support behavioral health initiatives.
  • Prevent workplace violence.
In the coming months, AHA will add sections about:

  • Creative staffing models.
  • Data and technology.
  • Diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Recruitment and retention strategies.
The AHA and SDAHO is fully committed to supporting this very important work as we strive to continue to develop and share resources to strengthen our South Dakota healthcare workforce.
