New Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center Opens in Howard

The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) Quality Staff are working on a grant through the South Dakota Department of Health to educate facilities on opioid use disorders. SDAHO consultants, Loretta Bryan and Michelle Hofer, provide education on resources, stigma, screening tools, medicated assisted treatment, and motivational interviewing and more. Both Hofer and Bryan have hosted multiple webinars and have visited hospitals educating staff on this important topic.

Recently, a new treatment center has opened called iRecover. US, located in Howard, South Dakota. It offers a unique model of addiction treatment that incorporates evidence-based and effective interventions for various types of addiction, including illicit drugs, prescription drugs, alcohol, and process addictions like gambling. The program is built on the proven 12 Step program, which consists of four modules that guide participants through the recovery process step by step with the assistance of experienced addiction professionals. This extended program offers participants the opportunity to complete an additional four weeks of treatment based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which provides them with essential tools and skills to ensure successful recovery.

It can be very difficult to find a treatment center for a patient in a small community. iRecover is another option for the staff at a facility to call when they need to find placement for a patient struggling with substance use disorder.

Currently, they accept health insurance, private pay options, and are working on getting approval for state funding. Fore more information on iRecover, visit their website.
