South Dakota Antibiotic Stewardship Workgroup Kickoff scheduled for July 23

The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) is pleased to share an educational opportunity from the South Dakota Department of Health HAI/AR Program and Keegan Mason & Associates.

Healthcare professionals are invited to attend the South Dakota Antibiotic Stewardship Workgroup Kickoff on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. (CT) at the Holiday Inn Express in Fort Pierre.

The kickoff event will bring together healthcare partners from across the state to strengthen antibiotic stewardship efforts, support safe prescribing practices, and address antimicrobial resistance in South Dakota. Participants will receive statewide updates, learn about stewardship initiatives and laboratory tools for detecting Carbapenemase-Producing Organisms (CPOs), hear a facility spotlight from Madison Regional Hospital, and have the opportunity to network with colleagues. An optional tour of the new South Dakota Public Health Laboratory will immediately follow the meeting.
