AHA releases 2024 Environmental Scan

On December 4, the American Hospital Association (AHA) published the 2024 Environmental Scan, which provides valuable information and insights on the current healthcare landscape. This report can help hospitals and health systems explore important issues with staff, leaders, boards, and community stakeholders.

According to Rick Pollack, the AHA President and CEO, the Environmental Scan highlights emerging trends and innovative approaches that hospitals and health systems are taking to improve clinical care, operational efficiency, and consumer engagement. He added that this report helps the healthcare industry strategically plan for the future and chart the best pathways forward.
The 2024 Environmental Scan covers a wide range of topics, including the state of hospital and health system financial stability, the use of artificial intelligence to improve operations and allow clinicians to spend more time with patients, health care consumerism, including retail clinic trends and “infodemic” management strategies, and care delivery transformation models such as home-based care and telehealth.

AMN Healthcare Leadership Solutions sponsored the 2024 Environmental Scan. You can download the Environmental Scan from AHA’s webpage. AHA members can access a PowerPoint presentation designed to help share these insights with various stakeholders and their community.
