2024 Pediatric Palliative and Hospice Care Needs Assessment

The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) is announcing its Pediatric Palliative Care and Hospice Needs Assessment is now available to any organization that has cared for at least one pediatric patient over the last four years. “The assessment will help the Pediatric Advisory Council of NHPCO gain a better understanding of the organizations and providers caring for pediatric patients with serious illness throughout the nation and will help to create resources and support advocacy” according to an email sent out by NHPCO.

If you have cared for at least one pediatric patient, as defined below, consider completing the survey. Only one survey should be completed by each organization location. The following age breakdown is from the National Institute of Health Style Guide for Age:

  • Perinatal: before birth
  • Neonatal: birth to 1 month
  • Infancy: 1 month to one year of age
  • Childhood: age 1 to 12
  • Adolescence: age 13-17 years
  • Young Adulthood: Age 18 years and over.
