June 10-14 is Community Health Improvement Week

The American Hospital Association’s Community Health Improvement (ACHI) network presents Community Health Improvement Week 2024, a time to honor those working in partnership to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities and advance health equity.

The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations encourages members to spotlight your organization’s commitment to community health.

Those who are community health workers may work in;

  • population health
  • hospital community health or health equity
  • health system
  • public health department
  • and more

If you are part of a community health worker program or have a program within your facility, don’t be afraid to take part in this week-long celebration. Snap photos or record videos of your on-site celebrations and share them on social media during the CHI week using #CHIWeek.

Consider organizing a lunch and learn event to hear from CHW in your area or to share your own story with others. Schedule a facilitated discussion or fireside chat that includes staff and community members. Organize a community service outing or community tour of a partner facility.

Thank you to all of our Community Health Workers, for all you do not just during #CHIWeek but every day.
