
The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) has a new open-to-all clinical training course, Introduction to Palliative Care which provides clinicians from all specialties and professions with an introduction to palliative care, how it is delivered, its impact on quality of life, and the growing population of patients who need it. Take the course and:
- Understand the Essentials: Learn what palliative care is and the core clinical services the palliative care team provides
- Transform Care at Any Stage: Discover how palliative care is appropriate at any stage of serious illness, and its positive impacts on patients and caregivers
- Meet the Interprofessional Team: Learn about the interdisciplinary palliative care team, and the elements of a comprehensive, interdisciplinary assessment
- Practical Tools: Access essential resources to facilitate incorporating palliative care principles into practice
After completing the course, you will be able to:

- Describe 5 core clinical services that the palliative care team provides
- Discuss 4 positive benefits of palliative care for patients and caregivers
- Explain the elements of a comprehensive, interprofessional palliative assessment
- State 3 resources to facilitate incorporating palliative care principles into practice.
Physicians, nurses, social workers, and care managers from CAPC member organizations, log in and take the course to earn free CE/CMEs. Free ABIM Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credits are also available for physicians. Non-members earn a Verification of Attendance certificate.
