The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) is proud to share that five South Dakota member hospitals have been recognized on the Forbes Top Hospitals 2026 list.
This inaugural list has a rating system that evaluates general acute care hospitals across the United States, providing consumers with unbiased information about high-quality, high-value medical care—no matter where they live. It also offers hospitals a national benchmark to compare performance among peers.
From roughly 5,400 eligible general acute care hospitals, about 2,500 met Forbes’ inclusion criteria. Of those, 253 hospitals earned a 5-star rating and 509 received 4 stars.
