The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) is a national organization that supports health care organizations with “essential tools, training, technical assistance and connection for all clinicians caring for people with a serious illness” according to their website.
While the large health systems in South Dakota have CAPC memberships with access to all their resources, critical access hospitals (CAHs) and small community facilities likely do not. Recognizing that many organizations dedicated to the advancement of palliative care do the work with limited resources, CAPC has created a new page on their website that highlights key resources available free to all with no membership required. This information can help clinicians develop primary palliative care skills. Available information includes:
- Clinical Skill Building
- Access to Tools and Technical Assistance
- Live and on-demand Events and Workshops
- The latest insights, research and perspectives
- Patient and Family Resources
- Career Opportunities
