Affiliate Society Spotlight Series: ACHE of South Dakota

Advancing Health Care Leadership Across South Dakota

At the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO), we know collaboration and professional growth are key to advancing health care across South Dakota. Our Affiliate Society groups play an important role in supporting health care professionals at every level by providing education, networking and leadership opportunities that strengthen both individuals and organizations.

Through SDAHO’s Affiliate Society Spotlight Series, we highlight the mission, leadership, professional development opportunities and upcoming events offered by these valuable organizations. Whether you’re looking to join, re-engage or simply learn more, we invite you to explore the professional communities helping shape South Dakota’s health care landscape.

THIS MONTH’S SPOTLIGHT: ACHE OF SOUTH DAKOTA

Mission Statement

ACHE of South Dakota is the state’s independent chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Its mission is to meet the professional, educational and leadership needs of health care leaders; promote high ethical standards and conduct; advance health care leadership and management excellence; and support ACHE’s national mission of advancing its members and health care leadership excellence.

About ACHE of South Dakota

ACHE of South Dakota serves current and aspiring health care leaders throughout the state, including students, early-career professionals, experienced executives and leaders working across the health care continuum.

Members gain access to local and national education, networking, mentoring, career resources and volunteer opportunities, along with support for those pursuing the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE®) credential.

Membership in the American College of Healthcare Executives also includes automatic membership in the local chapter, connecting South Dakota members with a broader community of more than 53,000 health care leaders.

Education, Events and Networking

ACHE of South Dakota provides educational and networking opportunities throughout the year, often in collaboration with health care organizations and professional partners across the state.

The chapter partners with SDAHO to provide programming during the Rural Health Leaders Conference and SDAHO Annual Convention and also co-sponsors a Spring Symposium in Sioux Falls with the MGMA and HFMA chapters.

Looking ahead, members can also participate in the 2027 Congress on Healthcare Leadership, scheduled for March 22–24, 2027, in Nashville.

Leadership & Professional Development Opportunities

ACHE of South Dakota offers members several ways to become more involved and grow professionally. Members can participate in chapter committees, help plan educational and networking programs, volunteer for chapter leadership and mentoring roles, and support students and early-career professionals.

Additional professional development opportunities are available through local and national education, career resources, speaking opportunities and mentoring. The chapter also provides support to members working toward their FACHE® credential.
