The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) Enterprises, in partnership with LMC Insurance & Risk Management and United Heartland, hosted the Summer Healthcare Conference on workers’ compensation on Aug. 29 in Sioux Falls.
Over 40 participants had the opportunity to discuss and participate in sessions on:
- Workers’ Compensation 101: Landmark cases, workers’ compensation legal chart, SD workers compensation rates, and South Dakota law updates by Laura Hensley, Boyce Law Firm.
- Safe Patient Handling: Preventing aggression and combativeness during patient care by Elizabeth Kain, LMC Insurance & Risk Management.
- Workers’ Compensation Management & Loss Control: by Mike Hogan, United Heartland.
- Supervisor Safety Management: by Chuck Martinek, LMC Insurance & Risk Management.
