The Unified Judicial System, in conjunction with several partner organizations, will be hosting a statewide conference about mental health crisis intervention August 18 and 19 in Oacoma, SD. The purpose of the conference is to help communities develop a local action plan for a regional approach for mental health crisis response through the identification of existing resources, determining how to incorporate future resources, and increasing local communication and collaboration.
The intended audience includes a variety of stakeholders, such as law enforcement, community mental health centers, mental health providers, county officials, Board of Mental Illness chairs, and state legislators.
South Dakota hospital, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare organizations are encouraged to attend. There is no registration fee for this event and lunch will be provided Wednesday and Thursday.
