The Pause: Utilizing a Moment of Silence after a Patient Death

On November 23, Lores Vlaminck will present the final session of the three-part End of Life Care series hosted by SDAHO. Within this session, Lores will address a difficult topic, caring for patients and family members during the final days of life. Participants will learn physical signs and symptoms of the dying process, assess needs and interventions for patients and their families, and discuss the role of the palliative care healthcare worker.

Lores will share the impact of “The Pause”, which is a moment of silence after a patient death. For clinicians, “The Pause” may reduce moral distress and burnout symptoms while increasing job satisfaction and bereaved care satisfaction scores. To learn more about “The Pause” and ways clinicians can care for patients near the end of life, register for this session today.
