Rep. Dusty Johnson Makes Special Appearance at SDAHO’s All-District Meeting

The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) hosted an all-district meeting for member CEOs and administrators on Tuesday, February 21. Due to challenging travel conditions, members joined virtually to hear from the South Dakota Department of Human Services Secretary Shawnie Rechtenbaugh and Division Director of Long Term Services and Support Heather Krzmarzick to provide an update on resources and support provided through their division.

SDAHO members were briefed by Tim Rave on state and federal issues and updated on the association’s strategic plan priorities. This years all-district meeting took place during week six of the 2023 legislative session, and virtual attendees received an update on SDAHO’s state advocacy efforts. This session, just under 500 pieces of legislation were introduced, with SDAHO tracking 103 healthcare related bills.

Representative Dusty Johnson joined the meeting to express appreciation to SDAHO and its members for their work within the state. Rep. Johnson provided an update on various federal issues impacting healthcare. Johnson also provided an update on COVID-19 dollars, and his efforts and expectations in congress moving forward. Members were invited to ask questions and engage with Mr. Johnson during his virtual appearance. SDAHO expressed gracious appreciation for the strong leadership and support Representative Johnson has provided on behalf of our membership.
