Earlier this year the community of Gregory, South Dakota celebrated the opening of a new health campus. The 88,000 square foot building accommodates the latest technology and evidence-based medical practices.
The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations, Clinical Improvement Consultant Loretta Bryan visited Avera Gregory Hospital earlier this week. “I am very impressed with the new building recently added to their community. The staff at Avera Gregory Hospital were very eager to show off their new building, latest technology and share what is happening in Gregory.”
Sarah Janak, Director of Patient Care Services, “It is fun to come to work. They have beautiful windows with a lot of light that patients and employees enjoy.” Staff also enjoy and appreciate working in a new clinic, outpatient area, surgery, inpatient, ER rooms, and nursing home.
Katie Biggins is the Quality Coordinator, “We have very good quality of care here at Avera Gregory Hospital, we are excited to match this quality of care with the quality of the facility.”
The new campus includes:
- Hospital
- Clinic
- Long-Term Care Services
Additions to the hospital now include:
- MRI Suite
- Endoscopic Room
- Large surgical suite
- On-site dialysis Center (at hospital)
- Therapy Gym (at hospital)
In addition, improvements in the medical and clinical departments, there are updates in the kitchen as well. Tammy Graesser, the dietary manager states, “This is the best thing that has happened to Gregory.”
The community raised approximately 3.5 million dollars themselves to help ensure they had this for their community. “The staff was very eager to show me around while I was at Avera Gregory.
