The focus of this article is on core nursing staff (permanent nurses) and their characteristics, attitudes, and behaviors compared to travel and per diem staff. The survey, conducted by Medical Solutions, found that core nursing staff choose permanency for the following reasons:
- Being with family
- A consistent income
- Working with the same team
- Patient care
- Appropriate staffing levels
- Healthy work-life balance
