Traditional Medicare vs. Medicare Advantage Resources for Medicare 2025 Open Enrollment

Medicare open enrollment for the year 2025 officially began on October 15 and will run through December 7. This crucial annual period allows individuals eligible for Medicare to thoroughly review their current coverage, explore new plan options, and make any necessary adjustments to their existing plans. Beneficiaries can switch between various options, including moving from Medicare Advantage or prescription drug plans to Traditional Medicare, ensuring they find the coverage that best suits their healthcare needs.

Understanding the differences between Traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage can be complex, which is why it’s essential for beneficiaries to have access to accurate information. To aid in this process, the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations has developed a resource aimed at educating the public about these options. This resource offers clear explanations, comparisons, and insights that can help individuals make informed decisions regarding their healthcare coverage.

We encourage SDAHO members to take advantage of this resource and share with their patients and residents. To access the resource, please click here.
