Grant Spotlight: December 2024

Have you been wondering if your organization is ready to apply for grants? What does it mean to be “grant ready”? It’s important that organizations considering to apply for federal funding conduct internal assessment to determine their grant readiness.

A common activity that organizations need to consider is reviewing internal controls. Does the organization have policies and procedures in place to manage grant awards such as time and effort tracking, conflict of interest, procurement, cash management, annual audits to name a few.

A good resource to help you identify the policies and procedures your organization needs to have in place can be found on the HRSA website. This resource is specific to Health Resource and Services Administration (HRSA) awards however it provides an overall look at what organizations need to have in place in order to effectively receive and administer grant funds.
