National Care at Home Month is a time to recognize and celebrate the tireless provider staff and volunteers who bring high quality care to those with sudden acute illness or chronic serious illness to wherever the person calls home. It also brings awareness of its importance and perhaps its need to communities, media and policy makers.
What can you do to celebrate Care at Home? Several organizations have suggestions to get you thinking:
The National Alliance for Care at Home (The Alliance) breaks the month into distinct weeks to honor the various types of in-home care:
- Hospice & Palliative Care Week- November 2-8
- Home Care Week- November 9-15
- Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS)- November 16-22
- Home Health Week- November 23-29
