South Dakota Medicaid to host training on updated hospital methodologies

Shared by SDAHO: South Dakota Medicaid is planning to implement updated hospital methodologies effective July 1, 2026, including APR-DRG. Solventum will host an optional 101-level training on the APR-DRG methodology on May 18 from 2 to 3 p.m. CST.

Renee Martin, Product Owner for APR-DRG Methodology with Solventum Health Information Systems, will lead the session. She will cover how APR-DRGs classify cases, account for severity of illness and risk of mortality, and differ from MS-DRGs and other payment approaches.

The training is intended for clinical, financial, billing, and operational staff seeking a high-level overview ahead of implementation. The session will not be recorded, but slides are expected to be available afterward.
