South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says a collaboration between the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division and the South Dakota State University Extension Office will expand the Aging Gracefully Program (AGE) statewide.
The inaugural AGE took place in 2016 in Rapid City, with SDSU Extension using technology to connect adults living in Belle Fourche, Hot Springs and Philip with unique information presented at the AGE in Rapid City. This year’s goal is to expand the event statewide.
On Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, SDSU Extension and the Consumer Protection Division will host the Second Annual Aging Gracefully Expo (AGE) at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. MDT. The event will highlight educational ideas, enlightening discussions and opportunities for the aging experience. The mission is to promote new ways of living fully to the older generation.
The event is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
The state is seeking rural community partners to join in the virtual expo. For more information, contact Leacey E. Brown, gerontology field specialist, at (605) 394-1722 or leacey.brown@sdstate.edu.
