Event Details

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, Lou Gerhig’s Disease) is a difficult, sometimes tragic illness for patients and families living with this disease. It creates challenges for hospice agencies caring for these patients and families, as they attempt to manage the extent of limitations and symptoms that are expected parts of the disease trajectory. This session will acquaint participants with the nature of ALS, including the expected course of the disease, management strategies, prognosis, and hospice-specific issues regarding this illness.
